WhatsApp: How to hide photos and videos in the gallery

With the latest version of WhatsApp for Android in its Beta version, the new version 2.18.195, the option has been activated so that we can hide photos and videos in our gallery or any other application in the chats that we want individually, either from a group or a particular contact, so that we can only see them from WhatsApp.

This way we already have 2 ways to hide all the media files we receive in WhatsApp: we can hide the media files in all the chats at once, or we can hide these files only in the chats we want. Here’s how to do it.

Hide photos and videos in WhatsApp

The two ways to hide photos and videos so they can only be viewed in WhatsApp and not in our photo gallery or any other application are really simple, they just differ in whether you want to make them for all your conversations or in a particular chat. We’ll tell you what to do next:

Hide photos and videos in All Chats

• From the main screen, click on the menu button (3 vertical points at the top right) and go to Settings.
• Click on the Chats option
• At the end of it all we can see the option “Show media in gallery“. We select it or not, depending on whether or not we want to hide the multimedia files in the gallery

Hide photos and videos in a chat room

• Let’s go to the chat, whether it’s an individual or a group, where we want to hide the photos and videos.
• From the chat we click on the menu button (3 vertical points at the top right)
• From the options that we get, click on “See contact”.
• Now we see the new option “Media Visibility“, we click it
• A window will appear where you can select whether to view the multimedia files or not. By default, you are in Display them.

How you see it is really easy to hide your photos and videos. Now you just need to download the latest Beta version of WhatsApp for Android, which can be very simple if you are already beta testers or a little, not much more, if you are not and can no longer be.
