WhatsApp for Android adds Google Drive

Finally it has come another big moment of WhatsApp for Android, this time is about the incorporation of Google Drive for do the backups, but not yet available in the latest beta, the version 2.12.44, but is available in the next version 2.12.45, which can be downloaded below, but always under your responsibility.

And is that in this new version of WhatsApp for Android if we go to Settings > Chat Settings > Chat Backup we find that we already can make backups and save them with Google Drive, for it just choose the frequency of backups that you want, you can choose between daily, weekly or monthly, and then select your Google Drive account, you can do it with a Gmail account.

Now we can restore our conversations from any device, if we lost it or we switched the device, is certainly a big step for WhatsApp.

Other changes we have seen in this new APK of WhatsApp for Android is that have added 3 new icons: “ic_add_person_tip.png”, “ic_new_call_tip.png”,“ic_new_message_tip.png”, besides 281 modified files, which is not bad.
