But more than one will be surprised to know the few people who work in this company it keeps running this service to everyone. A video filmed some time ago reveals some of the secrets behind this company.
Although who revealed some interesting facts about the instant messaging service was Jamshid Mahdavi, an engineer who has been linked to the company since 2013. During an event in San Francisco he told that before selling the service to Facebook, the company had 35 employees and already it reached 450 million users. But a year and a half later, the number of workers is just 15 more.
WhatsApp doubles the number of users but not the number of employees
Whatsapp has reached double of users who use the service each month, but the number of contract staff is minimal. And the secret of all of it is in a programming language called Erlang, in which is based all the messaging service. With it you get implement the new code on the fly without having any interruption in the instant messaging service.
Another of the secrets behind WhatsApp seems to be using a computer called FreeBSD, that which the Erlang, get that everything working smoothly and easily, at least most of the time. Tt seems that the company is committed to the best engineers, because the programming language used is not easy. Few but apparently prepared for whatever comes.
